Orville Norman Fisher

Scheldt Crossing spacer Born in Vancouver, British Columbia, Orville Norman Fisher joined the army in 1940 as a member of the Royal Canadian Engineers. Following transfer to the Historical Section of the army in Ottawa, Fisher became an official War Artist. While overseas he took part in the invasion of Normandy. Upon returning to Vancouver in 1946 he resumed his work as a muralist, graphic artist, and painter.
