Did You Know?

In addition to scores of printed music itemized in the Libraries’ catalogue, the Music Library has in its collections almost 7000 pieces of sheet music. These are all indexed and may be accessed by searching in the Sheet music index.

Library Chat

You may ask a question and chat with a librarian at the Research Help Desk whenever the Research Help Desk is open.

Service hours are posted on the Library Hours page.

Course Reserves

What is Course Reserve?

Your professors and instructors place materials such as books and articles on Course Reserve to help ensure that many students (sometimes an entire class) may access and read the same materials within a short period of time.

To enable this, the loan periods of Course Reserve items are much shorter than the loan period for regular library books.

How do I Find Items on Course Reserve?

To find items on course reserve, use the Course Reserves search page in the Library Catalogue.

You may search by course name, course number or instructor name.

Where are Course Reserve Items Located?

Items placed on course reserve can be obtained at the Circulation Desk and borrowed for short periods of time.

Placing Items on Course Reserve

To request that an item be placed on reserve, please contact the Music Librarian or send an email to musiclibrary@mta.ca.
