Did You Know?

In addition to scores of printed music itemized in the Libraries’ catalogue, the Music Library has in its collections almost 7000 pieces of sheet music. These are all indexed and may be accessed by searching in the Sheet music index.

Digital Music Library Resources

Classical Scores Library

This collection will eventually contain 400,000 pages of classical scores from both in-copyright and public domain editions.  The major composers are represented, as well as many lesser known composers and works; currently about 14,000 scores of 1000 composers.  Includes works spanning time periods from the Renaissance to the 21st century.  Restricted to authorized Mt. Allison University users.


Naxos Music Library (Music Streaming)

Music streaming online service of over 87,000 tracks of the complete Naxos catalogue of classical, jazz, world-music and historical releases, the Marco Polo and da capo catalogues as well as new releases. The database is searchable by composer, composition, date of composition, instrument, etc. Restricted to authorized Mt. Allison University users.


Oxford Music Online

The cornerstone of Oxford Music Online, a new gateway for online music resources, is the former Grove Music Online. Redesigned with functional enhancements as well as new content, it also includes The Oxford Dictionary of Music and The Oxford Companion to Music with further enhancements planned. Restricted to authorized Mt. Allison University users.
