New Books Lists

There are two ways to view a list of new books and other items added to the Library Collections.

  • You can use the New Books feature in the Library Catalogue to view a list of all new items added to the library collections within the last week.  Items are arranged alphabetically by title.

To view this list, simply click on More Information in the Library Info box, and then click on New Books.
  • You can also view monthly lists of new books, A-V materials, student theses and government publications added to the library collections. These monthly lists are arranged by call number to facilitate browsing by subject area.

The monthly lists are also subdivided into sub-sections, with headings for Government Publications, Electronic Resources, and Items Added to the Music Library. The monthly lists are accessible from this page (below).

Monthly Lists of New Items Added to the Library Collections

How to use the monthy lists:

Items are organized by subject and are listed by call number. So, if you'd like to see what new Canadian fiction has been added to the library this month, you can scroll down to the PS section. New books in philosophy? Check out the B to BJ portion of the list.

Not sure where to look? This guide provides a breakdown of the Library of Congress classification (call number) system.

Items listed will include call number, name (author, composer, etc.), and title. Further information about the items may be obtained from the MTA Library Catalogue.
