Like the 1796 survey document shown in image 3 (8317/8/5), this example, forty years later, shows that survey techniques had changed little. As before the survey provides the bearing for principal lot lines and boundaries, and because it is marsh land, the line of the dyke is carefully plotted so as to provide the basis for determining the useable acreage. |
