Note:
In the Royal Conservatory (Toronto) Music Theory Syllabus, as well as
in some theory texts, the term "Perfect" is used for V-I
cadences, "Imperfect" for cadences ending on V.
In many other theory texts the V-I cadence is termed "Authentic," (which
can be either "perfect" or "imperfect"). The cadence
ending on V is termed a "Half" cadence.
Either method is acceptable in our Entrance Assessment.
