Chamber Orchestra

Comprising students from all departments of the University
and members of the local Community, the Chamber Orchestra
performs works both for String Orchestra and for a larger
ensemble with a variety of instruments added. Professor
Danise Ferguson
is the director.
Evening Concerts are planned for Tuesday, November
27, 2012 and Tuesday, April 2, 2013, both at 8:00 p.m.
in Brunton Auditorium.

Auditions:
Strings (violin, viola, cello, upright bass)
Both new and returning students/community members are
asked to play an audition to help us determine placement
within the Ensemble, and to aid with repertoire selection.
Sign-up sheets will be posted outside Rm. 212 [ MYB
Conservatory ], as well as information forms to fill
out and bring to the audition.
Requirements:
- Your choice of 2 contrasting short pieces , or movements/sections
of a longer work. Approx. 6 minutes.
- Your choice of 2 scales, at least 2 octaves. You
are encouraged to play each at both a slow and a moderately
fast tempo, with 2 different bowings.
- Short sight-reading passage.
