Ensemble Director’s Workshop

Saturday, September 8, 2012

A day of hands-on professional development designed to reinvigorate your directing, build skills, and connect with fellow directors from across the Maritimes.

Sessions include:
• Conducting: advanced techniques and tips with the MTA Symphonic Band and director Dr. James Kalyn
• Jazz Ensemble directing with Dr. Linda Pearse and the MTA Jazz Ensemble
• Brass workshop: breathing, buzzing, warm-ups, and fundamentals for each instrument
• Woodwind workshop: fast and effective techniques for teaching embouchure and tonguing. Simple tuning exercises.
• Open forum on issues affecting ensemble directors in Atlantic Canada
