Recording
her third CD on the Casavant organ in Mount Allison's University
Chapel,
Gayle h. Martin again displays her love of the Maritime celtic
musical heritage. Celtic Impressions,
which she commissioned from South-African born Canadian composer
Jacobus Kloppers, opens this recording with four movements
on pairs of traditional celtic tunes. Carillon and Pagent illustrate
the folk-inspired and virtuoso style of American organist-composer
Leo Sowerby. Ending this collection is a stylistically eclectic
set of "serious variations on a silly tune" by
Canadian physician, organist, and composer Graham Hunter.
