Released in April 2005, Incandescence features solo piano music by Brahms, Bartók, Messiaen and Dallapiccola. Recorded at the CBC Glenn Gould Studio in Toronto, the quality of sound and the CD presentation, which includes detailed program notes in both French and English, are exemplary.

Seven excerpts from Olivier Messiaen's 1944 masterpiece, Vingt Regards sur l'Enfant-Jésus, form the core of the recording. They showcase the highly personal idiom and tremendous variety of the composer, from the extremely slow and meditative to the brilliantly virtuosic. Rogosin's interpretations of these beautiful and difficult pieces are spellbinding.

Opening the CD are four pieces by Brahms (two pieces each from opp. 76 and 118), followed by Bartók's popular Rumanian Folk Dances. Incandescence closes with Luigi Dallapiccola's Quaderno Musicale di Annalibera, a twelve-tone suite written in 1952. Its eleven short movements are poetic miniatures that abundantly reward the contemplative listener with their evocative, fleeting gestures and sonorities.
