Join us for a week-long intensive program for dedicated pianists, singers, and woodwind and brass instrumentalists, ages 14 to 22. Receive individual lessons with Mount Allison faculty, play chamber music and art song, study theory and aural skills, and perform in public concerts. Experience courses such as aural skills, introduction to conducting, basic improvisation, and music history.

Enjoy the use of Mount Allison's Marjorie Young Bell Conservatory of Music, with its practice facilities, the Alfred Whitehead Music Library, and the newly refurbished Brunton Auditorium.

FEES: Day camper $395, Residence camper $595 (inc. room and board.

Program Details

Mount Allison’s Summer Academy of Music combines private instruction, public performance, elective courses, and social activities for a week of inspiring music-making! Monday through Friday, Academy participants will enjoy a full schedule of activities at the Marjorie Young Bell Conservatory of Music on the beautiful Mount Allison campus. Participants will receive private lessons and master classes with Mount Allison Faculty members as well as coaching in chamber music and/or art song.  Practice time will be available each day, making use of the Conservatory’s fine pianos and practice facilities. A variety of elective courses will be held throughout the week including Introduction to Conducting, Jazz Improvisation, Aural Skills, and Music Theory. Evening recreational events will include outdoor activities, movies, and faculty recitals.  The week will conclude with a final public recital featuring all Academy Participants.
