Maple Leaf’s Scott McCain to moderate event focused on business in Atlantic Canada
SACKVILLE, NB — Mount Allison University will host a Business Leaders Panel Discussion this week. Part of Reunion Weekend celebrations, the public event will take place Friday, May 10 from 3:30-5 p.m. in Brunton Auditorium.
The discussion’s theme is Challenges for Businesses in Atlantic Canada and participants will have the opportunity to hear from some of Canada’s top business moguls, including Scott McCain, Mount Allison University commerce graduate and President and COO of Agribusiness Group, Maple Leaf Foods.
McCain says, “I’m honoured to moderate a discussion with some of our business and policy leaders in Atlantic Canada. Our panelists represent a variety of backgrounds and industries. The discussion will truly have something for everyone — students, alumni, and community members.”
Joining McCain on the panel will be: Geoff Flood, President, T4G and co-chair of the NB Innovation and Research Council; Charles Cirtwill, President and CEO, Atlantic Institute for Market Studies (AIMS); Laura Araneda, President, Vic Progressive Diamond Drilling; Sarah Young, Principal, National Public Relations; and Nora Duke, President and CEO, Fortis Properties Corp.
Tim Hynes, director of Mount Allison’s Ron Joyce Centre for Business Studies says, “We are so pleased to welcome this exceptional group of business leaders to campus. The panel discussion is a wonderful way to give back to the business community and to kick off a special Commerce Reunion, as part of the University’s annual Alumni reunion celebrations.”
