MOVE-IN DAY
Brace yourselves future Mounties! Move-in Day is one of the busiest days on campus. However, once everyone is settled in, the campus truly comes alive. When driving from the highway, look for the people in yellow shirts excitedly waving signs. Pull over and they will direct you where to go. For more information on Move-In Day Procedures, click here.
9:30AM-3:00PM: Welcome Kit Pick Up (Wallace McCain Student Centre)
Once you’ve parked, you will be directed towards the Wallace McCain Student Centre where you will pick up your Welcome Kits in Tweedie Hall. There you will find two head tables: one labeled “Pre-Paid” and the other titled “Pay Now,” so don’t worry if you didn’t pre-order your Welcome Kit because there will still be plenty available for $60. In the student centre, we will be issuing the Photo Id’s in the Multi Purpose (Room #130) from 9am – 6pm and again on Friday from 9am – 4pm.
10:00AM: Residences Open for Move-In (Your Residence)
Drive over to your residence, drop off your belongings, and then immediately go park elsewhere. There will be Orientation Guides (Yellow Shirts), athletes, and plenty of house staff there in help move your belongings to your designated residence room. By the time you walk back from the parking lot, everything you brought will likely be sitting in your room waiting for you!
2:30PM: House Meetings (Your Residence) & 3:30PM: Parent’s Q & A Session (Crabtree M14)
After you’re finished setting up your room, you are likely to want a break. So, take a breath and relax. Perhaps go explore our beautiful campus with your parents, but make sure you are back in time for your first residence meeting. This is likely to be more of an icebreaker session and an opportunity to learn your house cheers and meet your house executive.
At this time,
parents are invited to a Q & A Session in Crabtree M14.
3:30PM-4:30PM: Orientation Pump-Up (Athletic Centre Gym)
4:30PM-6:00PM: Welcome BBQ Dinner (Jennings)
Get ready for your first dinner in Meal Hall! Given it’s a sunny day, you will be able to eat outside in the Academic Gardens as well as in Jennings. Make sure to inform your parents that they too are welcome to attend this BBQ and can buy tickets at the door.
6:15PM-8:30PM: Commencement (Prep: Athletic Centre & Ceremony; Parents: Convocation Hall)
Make your way to the Athletic Centre and put on the prestigious Mount Allison graduation gown for the first time. The commencement ceremony marks a pivotal starting point to your Mount Allison career. Make sure your parents attend to get a glimpse of where you will be four years from now: a graduate of the number one undergraduate university in Canada.
9:00PM-10:00PM: Mandatory House Meetings (Your Residence) & Off Campus Meeting (Gracie’s Café in the Wallace McCain Student Centre)
