11:30AM: Academic Orientation (Jennings Mezzanine)

Feeling a little overwhelmed about first day of classes? During Academic Orientation, students will have a chance to explore what classes are really like from the perspective of an upperclassmen and gain some valuable advice from friendly (and not actually intimidating..) professors! Students will also meet up with enthusiastic student run faculty societies who plan amazing activities throughout the year for anyone involved in the program!

Bring your class schedule and any concerns/questions you've ever had about academics at university and get ready to be pumped for (and by) your fellow upperclassmen students!

7:00PM: Keynote Speaker – Drew Dudley (Convocation Hall)

A member of the Mount Allison Class of 2001, Drew tried to squeeze the most out of every moment of his time at MTA.  He helped put Shinerama in the spotlight, launched the fundraising campus music project Conduct Becoming, and began to build a scholarship in his roommate’s honour.

Drew went on to become National Chair of Shinerama -- Canada's largest fundraiser for post-secondary
students -- before becoming the Director of one of Canada’s largest and most dynamic university leadership development programs.  In 2010, Drew founded Nuance Leadership, Inc., a company that works with dozens of corporations, universities, colleges, high schools, charities and other organizations around the world to empower people to increase their leadership capacity.

Drew has spoken to almost 100,000 people in Canada, the US, Europe and the Middle East, and has delivered several “TED Talks” as part of the TEDx series of events. In February of 2012, his presentation from TEDxToronto, “Leading with Lollipops”, was selected to be featured on the main site of TED.com, and has been viewed over half a million times.

Come to Con Hall and hear the inspirational story on what kind of difference a single Mount Allison student can make.
