6:00AM, 6:30AM, 7:00AM, or 7:30AM: Shine Day – Rise & Shine
Your wake-up time all depends on how much money your residence fundraises! If your house raises the equivalent of $5 or more per resident, you will get to sleep in until 7:30am. At this time, you will get up, deck yourselves out in orange and blue clothing (purchasing a Shine Day shirt would be ideal for this) or wear your orientation frosh t-shirt and get ready for an incredible day! 8:00AM: Shinerama Breakfast / Registration (Jennings)
Make your way to the upstairs of Jennings to register for your Shine Site located on the streets of Sackville and the Greater Moncton Area. After you have registered for your site, enjoy a big breakfast while you listen to the Shinerama Opening Ceremonies and learn more about the largest post-secondary fundraiser in Canada that has been successful raising money for cystic fibrosis research since 1961.
9:00AM-4:00PM: Shine Day
Get on your designated bus and head out to your Shine Site in groups to shine shoes, sing songs, paint faces, wash cars, sell pendants, and do household tasks to help Mount Allison University’s Shinerama campaign top our goal of $37,000. Your Orientation Team strongly encourages you to participate in this event, as it is a chance to begin giving back to the community and make some lifelong friends.
10:00PM: SACVegas Dance & Casino Night
For all you high rollers, entertainers, or anyone who likes winning prizes and having a great time – you don’t want to miss this event! We want to see who’s got the hot hand and who’s got all the moves to light up the dance floor. This year’s SACKvegas theme is All of the Lights ! So ladies and gentlemen, dress to impress, leave the jeans, hats, and t-shirts at home and put on your dancing shoes and prepare yourselves for an unforgettable semi-formal night!
