Writing Resource Centre
Writing Resource Centre tutors are available to serve all
MTA students. The WRC employs tutors in the sciences, humanities, and
social sciences who staff the Centre on rotating shifts during our open
hours, as well as a part-time ESL/EAL writing tutor. The WRC is also a
resource for faculty, offering in-class workshops and scheduled tutoring
services for specific course writing assignments. More
about the WRC
Academic Peer Tutor Program
The Peer Tutor Program recruits exceptional students from
all disciplines, to tutor fellow students in course content. Peer tutors
have a minimum GPA of 3.0, have faculty endorsement to tutor in particular
courses, and only tutor in courses that form part of their major or minor.
A list of peer tutors can be found under “Student Support”
on the Student Life website.

Student Success Course
The Student Success Course is offered during the Winter
term, and is designed to help build the research, writing, numeracy, critical
thinking, and academic life skills that will help first year students
succeed in their university careers here at MTA. All students with a Fall
GPA below 1.5 are recommended to take this course, which offers 2 hour
weekly workshops designed to hone their academic skills.
This year, an abbreviated version of the Student Success
Course will be offered in the Fall term, beginning mid-October, for all
students struggling with core academic skills.
