Summer Scholarship of Teaching and Learning Grants
There
will be no funding for projects in Summer, 2009
Scholarship
is creative intellectual work, which is valued and validated by our
peers, and communicated or made public.
The
Scholarship of Teaching often begins with the search for a solution to
a problem or issue in the classroom. The solution may include the use
of educational technology, or it may involve the application of other
instructional approaches. The solution will inevitably benefit other teachers
and students on campus and beyond, and so reporting, presentation, or
publication of findings and outcomes is important.
The Purdy Crawford Teaching Centre supports the Scholarship of Teaching
and Learning at Mount Allison by providing grants to those involved in
pedagogical research or discovery. The Scholarship of Teaching and Learning
Grants promote and support the development and implementation of new and
creative solutions to teaching and learning issues. Proposals from all
disciplines, as well as those that are interdisciplinary, are welcome.
Those
who hold these grants will be designated PCTC
Teaching and Learning Scholars.
Granting
Period
There
is one call for proposals in April each year for Summer projects that
run May-August.
Any
applicant or co-applicant may receive only one award in a fiscal
year.
Please
Note . . . .
While
small amounts of financial support (up to $100) may be granted
at the discretion of the PCTC Director to support teaching and learning
projects at other times, in the interests of fairness and transparency,
all requests for PCTC funding over $100 must be made by proposal
and follow the application guidelines below.
Discretionary awards are subject
to the same limitations as those listed in the
Application Guidelines.
