Humbly, Lapointe noted that this celebration was not his alone, but rather a celebration of the team that was built during his four seasons at Mount Allison. In spite of arriving in Sackville not knowing a word of English, Lapointe says he came to love this town and, in a sense, still considers it home. Joking at the irony of choosing Mount Allison because he “did not want to become a number,” he adamantly considers his decision one of the best he has made in his life.
