Class Notes 1930s Pauline Harborne (’37) celebrated her 100th birthday on April 21, 2015 with family and friends at Mount Allison’s Marjorie Young Bell Conservatory of Music. Her birthday was April 20. Pauline has taught violin in Sackville for more than 50 years. The birthday party included many of Pauline’s friends, family members and colleagues, as well as several former students who returned to Sackville to honour their teacher. Performers included three generations of musicians, the youngest being siblings Alice and Charles Torrance, ages 13 and 11. him amongst the student and media melee following Convocation. Stan MacPherson (’69) was inducted into the PEI Business Hall of Fame by Junior Achievement of PEI on May 28 in Charlottetown. MacPherson is a senior partner with MacPherson, Roche, Smith, and Associates, Chartered Accountants and Management Consultants and chairs the QEH Foundation, the Holland College Board of Governors, and the Charlottetown Area Development Corporation. Roger Savage (‘63) at his easel on a plein air field trip to Cuba, December 2014. 1940s William Carr (’45) received an honorary degree from Memorial University during their Spring 2015 Convocation ceremonies. 1960s On April 30, Alumni board member Alex Morrison (’68), pictured right, and his wife Elizabeth McMichael met with His Excellency Kevin Vickers, ambassador of Canada to Ireland in his office in Dublin. They exchanged reminiscences of mutual friends and the ambassador spoke of how much he was looking forward to receiving an honorary degree from Mount Allison.
