Jeehan Jawed
Assistant Don

Hello Harperites!

My name is Jeehan Jawed and I am so excited to be your Assistant Don for the 2013-2014 academic year. I'm from Pakistan, but was born and brought up in the Middle East. I live in Dubai, United Arab Emirates (yes, the one with the really tall building!) and am a second year studying Commerce with a possible minor in Religious Studies. Some fun facts about me: I love to reading and watching old Disney cartoons, taking photographs and hanging out with friends. I get mildly obsessed with TV shows and am a pro procrastinator. I also love dancing and spending my Sunday afternoons at Bridgestreet Café.

I'm so happy that you decided to live in Harper this year! Trust me, you won't regret it. We're a house with a reputation for being super involved on campus AND we throw the best dance parties! My favourite thing about living in Harper is being attached to meal hall. When it's -30 degrees out and you're hungry, being attached to meal hall means not having to put on layers and walking in slippers.

One of my favourite things about Mount A is that it is so easy to meet people and get involved with the community. As a first year, I know it can seem daunting to put yourself out there but the Mount A community is so friendly and welcoming, and will make you feel right at home!

A piece of advice I would give you is get to know your RAs! Harper has a pretty fantastic team of RAs who are more than willing to answer any of your questions or even just hang out and watch a movie in the lounge with the rest of your wing. And bring lamps and/or Christmas lights with you! Not only do they make your room look cosy but they will definitely come in handy during late night study sessions.

I hope you are all having lovely summers and I can't wait to meet you!
