Hey everybody! My name is Carson Beck and I'm the Resident Assistant for fourthwest for the 2013-14 school year! I am a second year student currently majoring in Environmental science with a minor in Political science. My hometown isBelfast Maine U.S.A (for those who don't know its 6 hours south-west ofSackville). I love almost every sport ever played (including a new found lovefor curling) but soccer and diving are up there too. My favorite bands range from Led Zeppelin and Beirut to of Monsters and Men and the Lumineers. I love to travel and jump at every opportunity I can get, my favorite place I've everbeen would have to the Amazon Rainforest!
This will be my second year in Harper Hall and I'm beyond excited! I can't wait to meet all the incoming freshman as well as furthering my friendships with upper year students. Harper Hall is the best dorm on campus; for starts we're attached to meal hall (this is of monumental importance in the winter) The RA staff, exec team, and the Dons are all totally committed to making next year the best it possibly can be. The tight knit community that lives in harper has really made Sackville my home away from home, I couldn't imagine living in another dorm.
A few tips for the upcoming school year: When you arrive say hello to everybody and keep your door open as much as you can! Frosh week is a great chance to build strong, long lasting friendships that will have a major impact to your life at Mount Allison. Also bring every yellow and black piece of clothing you own, throughout the year there are numerous spirit events that harper is wholeheartedly involved in, you wont want to be left out! At the start of the year there will be an activities fair, this is a great opportunity to make friend out of house and really start to get involved in activities that matter to you! And remember as soon as you arrive at MTA try to find your RA or myself and say hello!
If you have any questions feel free to contact me anytime at cpbeck@mta.ca !I hope you all have a great summer and looking forward to meeting all of you in the fall!
