  Animal Care

The Mount Allison University Animal Care Committee (ACC) is a Presidential committee that oversees the use of animals in teaching and research in accordance with the guidelines provided by the Canadian Council for Animal Care (www.ccac.ca). The CCAC policy statement on: terms of reference for animal care committees was revised in March 2006 to reflect improvements made to ACC structure and functioning. The Terms of Reference outlined here incorporate these changes. This committee reports directly to the Provost and Vice-President, Academic and Research.

The Committee meets three times each year, and Protocols should be submitted to the Animal Care Coordinator no later than September 1st, January 7th, and April 15th, for review. Please submit both electronic and signed hard copies of your submissions.
