President's Research and Creative Activities Fund
The Fund
The President’s Research and Creative Activities Fund is established annually from monies received from the General Operating Fund, Endowment Funds, and external foundations and agencies (e.g., SSHRC, Crake Foundation). It may also include lapsed internal and external research funds, if available.

Regulatory Framework

The President’s Research and Creative Activities Fund is governed by the policies and procedures outlined in the Internal Research Grants policy (Policy# 5200.), which should be reviewed before applying to this fund.

In particular, applicants are directed to section 3.3 of that document, which deals with eligible expenses. Please note that conference travel is normally funded only by the Marjorie Young Bell Fund, Category B.

Application Procedures:
Applicants must fill out the electronic Grant Application Form and submit it electronically to grants@mta.ca.

Application Deadline: March 1

Applications are adjudicated by the Research and Creative Activities Committee. The Committee may assign all or any of the applications to sub-committees which, after evaluation, make their recommendations to the full Committee. The University Research Committee reserves the right to use external referees to assist in its evaluation of research proposals.
