Science Research application instructions
The complete application package includes:
  • Form 1 Application Cover Page
    This form must be completed electronically and then printed. Handwritten forms will not be accepted.
  • A one page proposal. This proposal should include the research question, the objectives, the rationale for the project, the relevant theory, the methodology or creative approach to be use, anticipated results (if appropriate) and implications of the research.
  • A one page statement of your academic preparation, qualifications and related experience for this project.
  • One signed and sealed copy of Form 2 Supervisor's Certification Form and Reference Letter. This form must be completed electronically and then printed. Handwritten forms will not be accepted.
  • Form 3 Social Policy Supplement – Statement of Alignment (Optional, must be submitted if your research is on an eligible subject and if you wish you be considered for the supplement).
  • Submit your full package, unstapled, to David Bruce, Office of Research Services, 213 Centennial Hall by no later than 4:30 p.m., January 31. We will access your unofficial transcript and append it to your application package.
  • Students (and their supervisors) who are selected for an NSERC USRA award will be notified and provided with instructions to complete the necessary forms on the NSERC website.
