  Mid Sweden University

Mitthögskolan (Mid Sweden University) is a multi-campus network university with centres in Härnösand, Sundsvall, örnsköldsvik and östersund. It was established in 1993 through the merger of the University Colleges of Sundsvall/Härnösand and östersund. The university offers more than 70 study programmes and approximately 500 courses. There are approximately 460 faculty members and 12,000 students.

Interdisciplinary approaches are focused in three areas: natural resources, human resources and communication resources. The University has a strong emphasis on international co-operation, particularly in the areas of the environment, regional development and social economics and runs projects and exchanges with 60 universities. They offer over forty credit courses per year in English, including upper level courses in many disciplines. Compatibility between the Swedish and Mount Allison course systems is good, with a term or year of study in Sweden converting well to a term or year of credits at Mount Allison.
