International Orientation

International Orientation

Every year as a part of welcoming our new students the university hosts an orientation before the beginning of classes. International Students are invited to come earlier than domestic students to attend 3 extra days of orientation with events geared specifically towards them.

During this time the International Advisor, along with international and Canadian student facilitators, familiarize the students with academic and social aspects of life in Mount Allison and Sackville. There are information sessions about such issues as health and wellness, the academic system at Mount Allison, how to dress for the winter and much more. There are out of town trips and social activities that provide many opportunities to meet faculty, staff and community members, and to make friends with other students.

While International Orientation is designed primarily to familiarise students with North American culture and its university system, new students from all international backgrounds are welcome to participate (for example, Canadian citizens who are living abroad).

Students interested in the position of Head Facilitator or Facilitator should complete this application form. Applications should be submitted to the International Centre by March 11, 2013.
