Every semester the International Centre runs the Mentorship Program. This certificate program is designed to match new international students (mentees) with upper year Mount Allison students (mentors). Mentors will help mentees with the transition to academic and social life at Mount Allison and will facilitate their adjustment to Canadian culture. The goals of the program are to promote cross-cultural sharing and to facilitate a broader and more inclusive campus and community life experience for the participants.

Mentees benefit from making a connection with a returning student and integrating into campus life through activities. The program is also a great way for second language English speakers to get some practice with their English speaking skills.

Mentors benefit from the experience too by interacting with students from all over the world. Mentors who complete the program also receive a reference letter which they can add to their career portfolio.
