Applying for Your Study Permit

As an international student studying in Canada you will be required to apply for a study permit in order to study in Canada. This, however, depends on which country you are coming from and how long you plan to study for. If your program of study is longer than 6 months then you must apply for a study permit.

Where Can I Apply for My Study Permit?

To apply for your study permit you must first obtain your acceptance letter from Mt.A. This letter would have been sent to you through the mail after you applied to study at Mt.A. Once you have this letter you must go to a Canadian Embassy or Consulate in your region to continue the application process. To find out more information about what other documents you may need for your application, please visit the Citizenship and Immigration Canada website.

Are you a US citizen?

Citizens of the United States can apply for a study permit at their first port of entry of most major US/Canada border crossings or at an airport in Canada. Make sure that you have all the necessary documents with you so that you can receive your permit. If you prefer to apply for the permit in advance, contact a Canadian embassy or download the forms from the CIC website.
