Adventures/Discovery - 2013

Day Camp

Time: 8:30-4:30

Adventures: Age 5-9

$80 per week (no lunch)
$115 per week (5 lunches included)

***Family with multiple children enrolled; $80 first child, $70 for second child, $60 for third or more.  $35 per child/week for 5 lunches.

Outdoor Skills: July 2-5
This week long camp offers campers the opportunity to develop outdoor living skills such as; building a fire, constructing a shelter, identifying plants and animals, and learning to have a healthy relationship with the natural world. Campers will have the opportunity to face a “Survivor” like challenge course, that will build confidence and trust in themselves and their team physically and test the knowledge they acquired throughout the week.  A fun and educational camp, perfect for getting campers outside and into the spectacular outdoors.
$80 no lunch, $115 with lunch

Multi-Sport Week: July 8-12
Let’s get active!!! Campers will enjoy a busy week filled with participation and instruction in variety of activities, including both traditional and non-traditional sports.  Campers will get to try their hand at an assortment of sports, including; volleyball, soccer, ultimate frisbee, and much more.  Each day is full of both fun and recreation, where campers will improve their skills and knowledge, as well as learn strategies, teamwork and receive quality coaching from our instructors.

Science@MTA: July 15-19
Experiment and explore the wonders of science in a week of jam-packed, hands-on fun. This program will introduce campers to the exciting world of science including Chemistry, Physics, Biology Psychology, Forensics and much more! Campers can team up with fellow “rocket scientists” to build and launch a model rocket, discover the wonders of the wetlands and even become crime scene detectives. Join us for one of our most popular summer camp programs as we turn curiosity and imagination into real-life scientific fun!

Around the World in 5 Days: July 22-26
We’ll be making our own passports for an adventure your camper won’t forget. Campers will “travel” the globe, participating in activities, and opening their eyes and minds to a new perspective of the world we live in. The world we live in is more connected than ever before, help your camper discover new customs, traditions and ways of living. From cultural crafts to unique food and dress, if you want to know more about the world we live in and the connections being made then this camp is for you.

Wacky Weather…Extreme Environment: July 29 -Aug 02
Has your child ever wondered how clouds, light, rain and snow work? Ever wonder just what global warming is and why it’s important? If so, this camp is for them. Discover the world of weather through fun & exciting games, activities and experiments. This camp experience involves hands-on participation and experiments mixed with awesome demonstrations. Participants will partake in a variety of activities and learn about what makes the world around us come alive

Creative Campers: August 5-9
Become an optical illusionist, a cartoonist, a fashion designer, a puppeteer, a sculptor or anything your camper can dream of.  Your artist will develop and expand their artistic ideas and creative skills under the instruction of senior Mount Allison University fine arts students. Campers will use a variety of media to create different art projects during the week.  The camper’s individuality and imagination will shine, as the possibilities for expression are endless

Where the Wild Things Are: August 12-16
“Let the wild rumpus start!!!” From reptiles and amphibians, to birds and mammals, take this week to let your camper learn more about the “wild things” in our region. Trek Sackville in search of the “wild things” in our own backyard. Get hands-on with nature and experience the beauty and marvels of the natural world through activities and learning. Let the “Wild Things” cultivate your camper’s imagination while they enjoy making “mischief of one kind…and another”.

Broadway@MTA: August 19-23
Broadway@MTA is a summer camp that combines the performing arts with an exploration of the world of music. During the week, campers will work with Mount Allison music and drama students, guiding them through activities in drama, music and dance.  Have your camper learn how to take artistic photographs and help record all of the fun and creativity of the week.  All of the inspirations and ideas that bubble up throughout the session are shaped into an original show which is presented to family and friends on the final day of the session.
