King-Richardson Cup (1903-1913): The most coveted trophy in varsity sport at Mount Allison before WWI was offered by the King-Richardson Company, a Springfield, Massachusetts-based publisher. Teams competing for the cup were UNB, Acadia, and Mount Allison. Initially, the team that won the trophy three times in a row was allowed to keep it, but in 1908 the provision was changed stating that the team had to win the cup five times in total before taking ownership. When the trophy was donated, it was hoped that it would help speed up the process of creating an intercollegiate rugby football union.

Mount Allison won the trophy in 1904, 1905 and 1910, and Acadia had also won it three times by 1911. The latter school went on to win the cup two more times, and in 1913 the trophy became its permanent property.

Gass Shield (1910- ): From 1910 through to at least 1919, interclass rugby football teams competed for the Gass Shield, a silver shield trophy. It was donated by J.C. Gass, of Halifax for yearly competition between the Freshman, Sophomore and Academy classes of Mount Allison. The league was created initially to benefit the first and second varsity rugby football teams, yet still continued during the war years despite a decision by the students to halt intercollegiate football.
