- 1896, Jan. 6: Sackville's second skating rink, Copp’s Rink on Weldon Street, opens
- 1896, Feb. 4: University holds first hockey match against an outside team, vs. Sackville town team
- 1896: annual Ladies’ Culture physical culture drill (lawn drill) is moved outside for first time
- 1896, Dec.: rugby team travels to Nova Scotia for first time
- 1897, Feb.: University plays first intercollegiate hockey game, vs. Dalhousie
- 1897, May: University men give final gymnastics exhibition during Closing Week ceremonies
- 1897, Sep.: 25 bicycles at Ladies’ College
- 1897, Oct.: tennis courts used by male students
- 1898, Oct. 20: construction of University Athletic Field begins
- 1899, Feb. 10: first skating party, hosted by Male Academy
- 1900, Oct.: University Athletic Field is completed
- 1900, Nov. 3: Frank Parker Day scores Mount Allison’s first intercollegiate rugby football points on new Athletic Field
- 1901, Apr.: Mount Allison Athletic Club revises by-laws and constitution and becomes known as the Mount Allison Amateur Athletic Association
- 1901, Oct. 23: Beethoven Hall is officially dedicated and doubles as second Ladies’ College gymnasium
- 1901, Nov.: women begin playing basketball
