Alumni Dinner with Ian Hanomansing ('83)

November 16, 2013

white rock event for mount allison alumni

Surrounded by the new MtA banner, dozens of photos of the Mount Allison of years ago, and even more photos of recent students showing the same love and enthusiasm for their alma mater, the Vancouver Chapter gathered for an evening of fun, food, and festivities in White Rock, a city of 20,000 in Metro Vancouver. There were a variety of class years present including very recent graduates and those from past decades.

A sllide show, stories, and laughter set the tone for Ian Hanomansing's ('83) presentation as the guest speaker for the event. Ian's presentation was very much like a family member sharing his thoughts in an informal setting. Both Ian and his wife Nancy endeared themselves by taking time to chat and to join in the evening's activities.

Following a traditional Maritime turkey dinner buffet, there were prize draws for MtA items including toques, a portfolio, a notebook and pen, and a photo book of the Sackville area.

Alumni had the opportunity to have what photos they wished from the displays. One alumnus saw the photo of her grandparents’ house — a pleasant surprise. The dessert buffet finished off the evening, and plans were made for a barbecue in the summer.

A wonderful MtA evening with so many present saying the MtA influence is still being felt.
