This concert is a musical voyage of collaborative, cross-cultural creation and is the 13th Annual J.E.A. Crake Concert, generously supported by the Crake Foundation and is organized in partnership with the Lunenburg Academy of Music Performance

Jeremy DutcherSaturday, November 30, 2019 at 7:30 pm – Jeremy Dutcher, winner of the 2018 Polaris Music Prize for his debut album, Wolastoqiyik Lintuwakonawa. A classically-trained operatic tenor and composer, Dutcher blends his Wolastoq First Nation roots with classical, traditional, and pop music into captivating, unique, and deeply moving music that defies categorization. One of the most in-demand artists in Canada right now, we are delighted to present Dutcher as part of his tour of Atlantic Canada.

Merkelo and SalovFriday, March 13, 2020 at 7:30 pm – Paul Merkelo, trumpet, and Serhiy Salov, piano. Powerhouse duo Paul Merkelo and Serhiy Salov explore some of the greatest works for trumpet and piano by Slavic composers. Merkelo has been principal trumpet of the Montreal Symphony Orchestra since 1995 and is renowned as one of the finest trumpet players of his generation. This concert is presented in partnership with Debut Atlantic.
