Microfinance Brigades assists rural communities in Honduras by working closely with members of their respective community banks (cajas). The purpose of the Microfinancie Brigade is to help these communities achieve financial sustainability. Brigades can coffer suggestions and share basic banking and wealth management knowledge (ex: how to budget personal income) to help people gain a greater control over their personal income Caja members can use this knowledge to teach their community and structurally improve how their community bank operates. In a broader sense, the work Microfinance Brigades accomplish helps alleviate poverty in some of the poorest regions in Honduras.
