All access unlimited plan
Mount Allison established a single unlimited "all you care to eat" meal plan as part of an overall effort to ensure students have the best value, convenience, flexibility, and nutrition possible to meet busy academic schedules.
Breakfast, lunch, and dinner is provided seven days a week, as well as continuous dining in between meal times. Late night is offered until midnight five nights a week. Students can eat whenever they like and as much as they like. There are no restrictions on the number of entries into the dining hall.
Special events, exam treats, food celebrations, BBQ, and house meals are held through the year. Three guest passes, parent meals, and $100 Mountie Money are also included.
Ten meals/week plan
A ten meals per week plan is an option for senior students living in the York Street houses. Students living in a York Street house are automatically registered for the ten meals per week plan. If you are an off-campus student interested in purchasing a meal plan, please visit Housing Services.
Pay at the door prices
For faculty, staff, and students living off campus the option of paying cash or using Mountie Money at the door is popular. During the 2017-2018 academic year the prices are Breakfast $6.58, Lunch $8.88 and Dinner $12.52. Prices do not include HST.
Nutrition information, dietary accommodations, and dietitian consultation
Eating well and making healthy food choices can be easy at Jennings Hall. Fresh vegetables, fruits, fresh cooked made-just for-you meals, dairy, grains, pulses, home-made soups, fresh baked goods, deli, and meat items and the salad bar are nutritious options for students on a meal plan. Nutrition information is available in the Jennings office and posted on the information board. Menu items have symbols to indicate gluten-free, vegetarian, and vegan choices.
Students who require assistance with additional dietary considerations such as food intolerances and allergies can eat from the "accommodation station" where meals are tailored to each individual. Just drop by the Jennings office to make an appointment with the director or with our registered dietitian for a consultation to discuss any food-related topic including weight management.
Dining Services is happy to provide carry-out meals for meal plan holders unable to attend regularly scheduled meals due to class conflicts, work, or illness. Completed forms need to be turned into the main office in Jennings Hall by noon on the previous day. Students picking up meals for an ill student must present a valid ID card to verify their identity.
Meal plan holders have access to three guest passes for use during the September to April period. The passes can be used for friends, grandparents, siblings, and other guests to campus. The checker at the desk will record use of a pass when you enter the dining hall. Parents and guardians can always eat free in the dining hall when accompanied by their student on a meal plan.
Late night dining
The dining hall is open until midnight five nights a week for a late night meal. Just like at home you can eat and relax with friends after a long and busy day. Late night menus are posted in Jennings Hall and on Twitter.
