Life on Campus

Accommodation
On-campus accommodation is recommended for visiting students who will be studying at Mount Allison for one or two semesters. There are eight different on-campus residences for students to choose from, in either a single room or a double room. All students living on-campus in residence benefit from an unlimited meal plan at the University dining hall.

Once a visiting student receives their acceptance letter and pays the $100 registration deposit, they will be able to apply for residence via the university's online portal CONNECT@MTA. A deposit is required: $250 for one semester, or $500 for the full year. Once the online residence application has been submitted the student will automatically receive an e-mail confirming receipt. No further action is required. The housing office will contact the student directly if any further information is required.

International Mentorship Program
The International Mentorship Program is designed to make the adjustment to social and academic life at Mount A an easier one for international students. We accomplish this by matching incoming international students (mentees) with upper-year Mount A students (mentors). The goals of the program are to promote cross-cultural sharing and to facilitate a broader and more inclusive campus and community life experience for all participants. Learn more and sign up here!

The Sackville Community
Mount Allison University is located on Canada's East Coast in picturesque Sackville, New Brunswick. Whether you come here from a small town or a big city, you will soon fall in love with living in the ideal university town. You will probably need rubber boots, there is often wind, and there is only one major intersection – but what you will find is that the spirit, the people, the opportunities to get involved in this engaging community, and the undeniable beauty of this place will become part of who you are and help you figure out who you want to be. To find out more, explore the Town of Sackville.

Cost of Living
When planning your budget, visiting students will need to factor in round-trip travel to and from the Moncton airport, accommodation, meal plan and/or groceries, insurance, and miscellaneous day-to-day expenses. The cost of living in Eastern Canada is very reasonable and generally lower than the rest of Canada. That said, transportation to and from Sackville can be expensive because there aren't many options. Please keep this in mind when you are planning your budget, especially if you are planning on doing any additional travel throughout Canada.
