Summer Programs

The summer provides an excellent opportunity for Mount Allison students to continue their studies abroad. Mount Allison offers a variety of summer study abroad programs, as do our partner universities and institutions.

Summer Programs with Mount Allison partners:

Waseda Univeristy - Japan
Dates: June 25 - July 19, 2018.
Program info: Courses taught in English on business, economics, history, literature, politics and sociology all in the context of Japan and Asia. Japanese language classes also available. Students can take two courses, for a total of 3 MTA credits. 
Application: Online through Waseda, application open from March 1 - April 1, 2018
Cost: 490,000 JPY program fee paid to Waseda includes tuition, accommodation, airport pickup, and field trips. Japanese government scholarship available (JASSO) to help cover cost.

Fudan Univeristy - China 
Dates: July 11 - August 9, 2018 
Program info: Courses taught in English on history, politics, sociology, business, economics, and computer science. Chinese language courses also available. Students can take one to three elective courses of their choosing as well as optional Chinese language courses, for a total of 9 MTA credits. 
Application: Apply through Mount Allison's International Centre. Application will open in February 2018.  
Cost: Tuition paid to Mount Allison for 9 credits. Application fee of CNY 400.

University of Kent - England
Dates: Two-week long programs running throughout June and July 2018.
Program info: Programs are offered in Canterbury, Paris, and Brussels. Courses include business, politics, international relations, history, literature, anthropology, psychology, and biology. Gain 3 MTA credits
Application: Apply online through Kent by May 28, 2018
Cost: Program cost paid to Kent includes tuition, accommodation, and organized trips. Cost varies based on program of choice, see website for details.

BI Norwegian Business School - Norway
Dates: June 25 - July 20, 2018
Program info: Study Intercultural Management from a Scandinavian Perspective. Gain 6 MTA credits in Commerce at the 3000 level.
Application: Apply through Mount Allison's International Centre. Application will open in February 2018. 
Cost: Tuition paid to Mount Allison for 6 credits. Discounted program fee paid to BI of 265 Euros. Accommodation is between 500-740 Euros. Scholarship available through BI.

University of Tübingen - Germany
Dates: Program 1: May 22 - June 15 (4 weeks), Program 2: July 16 - August 25 (6 weeks) 
Program info: Courses on Europe and the European Union, and introductory German language. Trips to Strasbourg, Berlin, Stuttgart, and the European Parliament included. Mount Allison students will be paired with a Tubingen student mentor for the duration of the program. 
Application: Apply online through Tubingen. Applications due by March 31 for Program 1, and April 30 for Program 2.
Cost: 2000 Euros for Program 1, 2800 Euros for Program 2. Cost includes tuition, accommodation, trips and activities, and public transportation pass for use within Tubingen. See website for early bird discounted pricing.

University of Marburg - Germany
Dates: July 14 - August 10, 2018
Program info: Study history, politics, sociology, and culture all in the context of Germany and Europe. German language classes also available. Pre-knowledge of German not necessary. Gain 6 MTA credits: 3 in German language and 3 in the subject of your chosen seminar.
Application: Apply through Mount Allison's International Centre. Application will open in February 2018. 
Cost: Tuition paid to Mount Allison for 6 credits. Program fee waived for nominated Mount Allison applicants, includes accommodation, meal subsidy, breakfast, Marburg public transportation pass, trips and activities.
