The Elevate Program is designed to help students be more prepared for the future through experiential learning opportunities on and off campus. This opt-in program is for ALL students who are interested.

The following events are open to all students! They can also count towards your experiential learning activity if you are part of the Elevate Program. 


Entrepreneurship Day  

WHEN: Friday March 6th, 1:00pm-5:30pm

WHERE: Sackville Commons (64 Main Street)

We will have guests from various organizations speak about topics such as finding start-up funding, building a network of support to help you on your entrepreneurial journey, and help you put together some of the key pieces you need to get started! You will also have the chance for one-on-one consultation with these organizations. To wrap up the day, we will also have a panel of entrepreneurs to share their journey, door prizes, refreshments and more!

Everyone is welcome to attend this event, and it is completely free! This will be a fantastic opportunity to learn about entrepreneurship and make great connections.

Health and Helping Day 

WHEN: Saturday March 7th, 9:30am-2:30pm 

WHERE: Tantramar Health Centre (2 Main Street) 

For this event we will be bringing in healthcare professionals from a variety of fields, including a physiotherapist, family doctor, registered nurse, social worker, health and addictions counselor, and others. There will be a panel discussion where guests are asked questions about their education pathway, a day in the life of their profession, challenges in the field, etc. You will have the chance to ask all of your own questions! We will also have current med students who can answer questions about the application process for medical schools and what it's like once you're in.  

Everyone is welcome to attend this free event, and lunch will be provided!

Past Events 


Elevate Skills 

  • WHO: ALL students are welcome to attend, regardless of whether you are already part of the Elevate program or attended the conference in November! 
  • WHEN: 10am-3pm on January 11th, 2020
  • WHAT: Elevate Skills - a day of pre-professional, hands-on workshops. Workshops will include:
    • Financial Literacy (debt management and what credit can do for you) 
    • Information Literacy (identifying "fake news" and how to properly reference sources/use citation machines)
    • Digital Literacy (upping your Microsoft Excel skills for the workplace)
    • Interview Skills (guided practice, top tips and tricks for being able to speak clearly and effectively about your skills, abilities and experience)

Interested in enrolling in the Elevate Program?   

Here's what you can do as an Elevate student:

  • 1-on-1 meeting with an Experiential Learning and Career Development Ambassadors to discuss: 
    • Intro to the Experiential Learning and Career Development office
    • Career goals
    • Resume review
    • Career Cruising and other self-assessments
    • Ambassadors will have a list of people they can refer the student to for more support if needed
  • Elevate Skills Day - January 11th
  • 1 Volunteer/Job Shadowing/Entrepreneurship/Innovation Jam experience in the Winter term. It'll look great on your resume!
  • Optional: other workshops to improve on missing skills
