Jean-Paul BoudreauGreetings from Dr. Jean-Paul Boudreau, President and Vice-Chancellor, Mount Allison University

Bienvenue! Pjila’si! Welcome to Mount Allison! We are truly a community-minded place and although everything may seem new and unfamiliar at first, I hope it won’t take very long before it feels like home. Orientation is a wonderful chance to get to know the campus and the people in it.

The Orientation Committee has put together an amazing program of activities to help you settle in and find your way around and I urge you to take advantage of the many opportunities available to you during Orientation and through the rest of the year. Have a safe and enjoyable Orientation and a fantastic first year at Mount A!

A message from Nigel Verret, Orientation Chair

Nigel-VerretHey incoming Mounties! My name is Nigel Verret and I am this year’s University Orientation Chair. I am very excited to welcome you all to our wonderful community! I am from Vancouver, British Columbia and will be going into my fourth year studying Economics and Mathematics. My job this summer consists of a lot of planning, communication, and coordination in anticipation of Orientation Week in August. I am working closely with the Mount Allison Students’ Union (MASU) and the Mount Allison Student Life Office to plan what will hopefully be a fun, informative, and memorable Orientation Week.

You might be asking yourselves: “What is Orientation Week?” Well, O-Week is a fantastic opportunity for you to get acquainted with Mount Allison University and the Town of Sackville while having a ton of fun in the process! You will be introduced to your orientation and residence leaders who will be guiding you on your first leg of your university career, to faculty and staff who will be there to support you in your academic and social endeavors, and to numerous other friendly faces who you can approach whenever you’re in need of some advice or help. We are lucky to be a part of such a supportive, caring, and inclusive community, and O-Week is your first taste of what Mount A is all about!
O-Week is approaching fast and in a few short months you will be at Mount A, ready for the adventure of a lifetime. The Orientation team, the residence life team, faculty, staff, and I are all looking forward to meeting you! Welcome to the family! If you (or your parents) have any questions, please feel free to reach out to me at I’m more than willing to help out with whatever I can. I hope you have a fantastic summer!
