"I’m completely in love with New Brunswick. Growing up here, I had the opportunity to see and experience many things that this beautiful province has to offer. When the opportunity to get a fantastic education in New Brunswick arose, it was a perfect fit!"
Vaillancourt is the recipient of a Bell Achievement Award at Mount Allison, one of the University’s top entrance awards. A graduate of Kennebecasis Valley High School, Valliancourt is studying sciences, with plans to major in biochemistry and would like to pursue a career in international or rural medicine.
"Throughout high school, I had the opportunity to participate in a variety of activities. I was a hospital volunteer and did research in clinical emergency medicine and worked as a volunteer for Shining Horizons, an association that provides therapeutic horseback riding lessons for children with various types of disabilities," she says. "I am currently the volunteer coordinator position for this organization."
Valliancourt also worked as a logistician and dental assistant on a volunteer medical mission in Ukerewe, Tanzania.
In addition to her volunteer experience, Valliancourt is a published author. She was heavily involved in the writing of a book about local soldiers from her hometown of Quispamsis, NB. The book was published in May 2015.
