Important details for international students

Plan for a successful start
You can apply to start your program in either September or January – unless you're applying for the aviation program. The aviation program begins in September of each year.

Check visa processing times
Before you apply, check the current visa processing times for your country. If there isn't enough time to get your visa before the term begins, we recommend applying for the next available term. Find out more about immigration and visas.

Review carefully
We recommend carefully reviewing all admission requirements before you submit your application.

Send supporting documents
All students are required to submit an official transcript for grade 12 (the last year of secondary school) and, if applicable, any further education (college, Higher National Diploma, university). This is an original document (not a copy) sent from your school directly to Mount Allison University. We must receive this before you enrol.

You can upload documents in the application portal. Otherwise, you can email them to admissionsteam@mta.ca. Please include your full name in the email. Most students will need to submit all transcripts (high school, college, university) and proof of English proficiency (if available).

Translate any non-English documents
If any of your supporting documents are in a language other that English, you'll need to have them translated to English and then notarized by a notary public.

Mature students
If you're a mature student (22 or older at the beginning of the school year), you must send the following supporting documents with your application: letter of intent that outlines your personal and career goals, and explains why you want to attend Mount Allison University and an updated resumé noting any relevant volunteer, work, and military experience.

Pay your registration deposit by bank transfer
Once admitted to Mount Allison, we recommend paying your registration deposit of $100 by wire transfer payment through Flywire. Another option is to wire the deposit from your bank – contact our registration office at regoffice@mta.ca and we'll provide you with the information you need to wire the deposit to us.
