First-year courses:

First-year Fine Arts students take Fine Arts studio courses (FINA) 1101, 1111, 1901, 1911, 1921, 1931, art history (FINH) 2101 and 2111 and six credits from outside of Fine Arts. Students who are admitted to the BFA degree will be pre-registered in all Fine Arts studio courses and will only have to register for non-Fine Arts electives (one course per term from any non-Fine Arts subject.) Bachelor of Fine Arts students are not required to complete distribution credits or a major or minor program.

Students who have applied for admission to the BFA degree will be notified in April of their admission status. In the meantime, students who wish to register before May should register in courses appropriate for the BA degree to which they have already been accepted, in case they are not admitted to the Fine Arts degree at this time.
