First-year course selection for students starting in the winter term (January 2018)
All students should refer to the advice listed on the first-year courses by degree program webpage. The quick guide to registration highlights key resources to help you through the registration process.
Bachelor of Arts students will note that there are no required courses for the first year. Students should prioritize registration in their intended discipline(s) of study, and then focus on selecting courses that will meet distribution requirements.
Bachelor of Commerce students should register for ECON 1011, MATH 1111, and nine additional credits, keeping in mind distribution requirements or a potential minor area of study.
Bachelor of Science students in particular will need to be aware that many of the typical winter term courses require fall term prerequisites. However, you will find below a selection of first year courses offered in the winter term that are required (or recommended) for various majors and that do not require prerequisites. Pleases consult with the Academic Advisor or a Program Advisor if you are unsure of which courses to prioritize.
