Jane Tisdale

Fine Art Conservator

Jane Tisdale restretching a canvas

As a fine art student at Mount Allison University, Jane had a part-time job at the Owens Art Gallery. Little did she know. After graduating from Mount Allison with a Bachelor's degree in Fine Art, and apprenticing in the Owens Conservation Lab, she went to Queen's University and attained a Master's of Art Conservation degree.

She completed internships at the McMichael Canadian Art Collection and in Fort Good Hope, Northwest Territories, where she assisted with the interior restoration of an elaborately decorated 19th century church.

In 1993 she returned to Sackville to work as Fine Art Conservator at the Gallery, and to buy an old farmhouse, build a chicken coop and plant a garden.
