Ronald Dawson ('59)
Submitted by Allisonian friends in the U.K.
Ronald Dawson died at his home in Ger-
rard's Cross in Buckinghamshire, England
in Dec. '11.
Born in Dec. '37, he grew up in Central
Bedeque on a farm beside the Dunk River.
He graduated from Mount Allison in geol-
ogy in 1959.
Ron's career in pharmaceutical sales took
him to Australia, the Philippines, England,
Germany, and the United States. In retire-
ment he settled in England but continued
his travels.
Nevertheless he was at heart an Islander
and was always drawn back there, espe-
cially in later years to visit his father, Ivan,
who lived, unlike Ron, to a ripe age. His
ashes will be laid with his parents' there.
Ron loved Mount A in equal measure. He
attended his 50th Reunion and he rarely
missed a "gathering" in London. This kind,
gentle, and able man will be much missed.
The In Memoriam list is compiled from information sent
to University Advancement from January 17, 2012 to
May 28, 2012. Please feel welcome to submit memories
of departed Allisonians you have known and loved, and
we will be happy to print short versions in the Record and
longer versions online (http://alumni.mta.ca).
